Description of the service
This site provides information on road obligations across Europe — vignettes, section tolls and low-emission zones — at the official price, with systematic links to the official portals of the countries concerned. Tolldex sells no vignettes or toll products and maintains no affiliate relationship with vignette resellers.
EXP4 endeavours to provide information that is as accurate as possible; every price published carries the date it was last verified and the address of its official source. EXP4 cannot, however, be held liable for omissions, inaccuracies or failures to update, whether on its part or on the part of the official sources providing that information. All information on the site is indicative and subject to change; at the moment of purchase, only the official portals are binding.
General terms of use
Use of the site implies full acceptance of the general terms described below. These terms may be amended or supplemented at any time: users are therefore invited to consult them regularly.
The site is normally available at all times. EXP4 may nevertheless decide to interrupt it for technical maintenance, and will then endeavour to announce the dates and times in advance.
Technical limitations
The site uses JavaScript. The site cannot be held liable for material damage related to its use. Users undertake to access the site with recent, virus-free equipment and an up-to-date browser.
Intellectual property
EXP4 owns the intellectual property rights, or holds the rights of use, to all elements accessible on the site, in particular texts, graphics, logos and software. Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication or adaptation of all or part of the site, by whatever means, is prohibited without the prior written consent of EXP4.
The prices published are public data, verified against the official portals of the countries concerned, whose source is cited on every page. Low-emission zone data comes from the TyreMap dataset (CC BY 4.0 licence). Routes rely on OpenStreetMap data (ODbL), borders on Natural Earth (public domain) and the list of suggested cities on GeoNames (CC BY 4.0 licence).
Liability
EXP4 cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damage to a user's equipment when accessing the site, nor for indirect damage resulting from its use — in particular where a displayed price differs from the price actually charged by an official portal.
Personal data
Personal data is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and, in France, by law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978.
Tolldex offers no user accounts and collects no personal data. The route calculator retains neither identity nor IP address alongside a journey: results are cached against a technical fingerprint of the journey parameters, never against a user.
Under the GDPR, every user has the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to personal data concerning them. That right may be exercised by writing to tolldex@exp4.fr.
Links and cookies
The site contains links to the official portals of the states and operators concerned. EXP4 has no means of checking the content of the sites thus visited and accepts no liability for them.
The site sets no advertising cookies. Audience measurement (Google Analytics) may be enabled: in that case a banner collects your consent on your first visit, and no cookie is set before you accept. Declining is as easy as accepting and changes nothing in the content served.
The map loads its base layer from OpenFreeMap, a non-profit service built on OpenStreetMap; as with any web resource, that technical request passes the browser's IP address to the map server. No cookie is set in the process.
Governing law
Any dispute relating to the use of the site is subject to French law. The courts of Paris have exclusive jurisdiction.
